Master (Captain) George Henry Dumble killed in action when S.S. Lavernock was torpedoed by U-boat U117 17thSeptember 1918 5 miles South west of Trevose Head, Cornwall.
The ship was on route from Bilbao to Glasgow and was owned by the Allen Adams and Co Ltd. With a cargo or iron ore.
With details of the U-boat’s Captain. He is commemorated on the Tower Hill memorial.
