A pair of Victorian campaign medals, awarded to 237 Private Robert Spight, 2/9th Regiment of Foot, comprising: India General Service medal with Jowaki 1877-8 clasp and Afghanistan medal with Kabul clasp, complete with original medal boxes and paper 'Royal Mint' envelopes.
Jowaki Afridis who occupied the territory between Peshawar and the Kohat Pass may continue to tax on their neighbours.
Private Robert Spight served in Brigadir General Ross's Force (Peshawar Column) to suppress these incursions.
He was awarded the Afghanistan Medal with Kabul Clasp for operations in and around Kabul 10th-23rd December 1979.
An interesting pair especially as it is unusual to have the original issue boxes with them.
Condition as shown in photographs.
